Configuring and connecting to Trac Auth on Linux Stream 9

When starting the VM, the proxy server starts automatically.

  1. To work, you should open TCP port 80 in the network properties of the Amazon firewall. 
  1. To connect to the Server, you should generate a “Private Key” in advance. This can be done using the following instructions (by choosing the “file format:” option “.ppk” in point 3) Guide – How To – Create and use Key Pair to connect to a VM

a. Connecting to the VM using the PuTTY application. You can download it at the following link – Download

  • Go to section SSH on the left panel, and then to Auth
  • In the “Auth” section, click “Browse” and specify the path to the .ppk file you received earlier.
  • Go to the home page of “Session”, enter the IP address of the VM, and click “Open”.

b. In the opened console, you will need to enter the login ec2-user

3. After logging in, run the following command:

> sudo tractl 

4. To add a new project type 1 and press Enter on the keyboard

         – Enter the directory name for your new project, it is important that the directory name must not have spaces 

         – Enter a project name and confirm it

5. To add a user type 3 and press Enter on the keyboard.

 Enter the username, confirm it, enter the password for the user (two times) and press Enter to continue

6. To exit the Trac management menu type 6 and press Enter on the keyboard

 7. To open the site, go to the following address in any convenient browser: http://vm_ip. The Default project and created project will be displayed on the start page.

8. To log in, click ‘Login’

9. Enter username (1) and password (2) that was created in Step 5, and click Sign In (3)

Now you can use, configure, and manage the Trac System Server.
