Configuration and Connection to Minimal Core VM on Windows Server 2025 DC
To initiate the server, launch the virtual machine via Azure.
- After purchasing and starting the VM, you should know its IP address. You can find it in the personal account of Azure. (You need to select the virtual machine from the list. Select the virtual machine from the list and click on the “Overview” item. The IP address will be displayed in the “Public IP аddress” line)
- To connect to the server, port 3389 TCP must be open in the Azure network settings
- To connect to the virtual machine, execute the “Remote Desktop Connection” shortcut by pressing “Win + R” on your keyboard
- In the prompt window, type “mstsc” and click “OK”
- Follow these steps:
- In the <Computer> field, enter the “Public IP аddress” of the virtual machine
- In the <Username> field, enter the login you used when creating the VM
- Click the “Connect” button
- Enter the password you specified when creating the virtual machine and click “OK”
- Check the box and proceed by clicking “Yes.”
- After connecting to the VM, a window will open with parameters for configuring diagnostic data. Select one of the available parameters and click “Accept“
- Launch Server Manager from the Start menu
