Connecting and configuring Firebird 4 on Windows Server 2025 DC

To ensure the VM operates correctly, you need to open TCP ports 3389 and 3050 in the Security Group in the AWS Firewall.

Connecting to the Server

  1. To connect to the Server, you should generate a “Private Key” in advance. This can be done using Guidance on usage. To connect to the virtual machine, click the Remote desktop file from step 10 of the Guidance on usage
  1. In the window that appears, enter the password from step 12 of the Guidance on usage and click OK.
  1. Check the box and click “Yes”.
  1. Open and save the password from the creds file on the VM desktop
  1. Download DBeaver from the page – Download
  1. Start the DBeaver
  1. Click on the button to establish the new connection
  1. In the list that appeared, find and select “Firebird”, then click the “Next” button
  1. Enter your VM IP in the Host field (1). In the Path field (2), specify the path to the database located on the VM. For example: C:\Program Files\Firebird\Firebird_4_0\examples\empbuild\employee.fdb 

Leave the Username field with sysdba, set the password (3) from step 4, and click Finish (4). It is strongly recommended that the password be changed after connecting to the database.

  1. While connecting, the window with the driver files installation may appear. Click  “Download”, after that, the connection to the database will be continued.
  1. Your Firebird is ready
