Guide – How To Start – Zabbix: Network Monitoring System on CentOS 8

Zabbix gives you an opportunity to monitor your network. Start controlling network health, performance, and configuration changes with this tool.

Configuration and connection to Zabbix: Network Monitoring System on CentOS 8

  1. To start the server, run the VM through Azure Portal.
  2. To work, you must open port 80 (TCP) in the network properties in the Azure firewall.
  3. To connect to a VM, you need the PuTTy application to connect via ssh. You can download it at the following link – Download
  4. Run Putty, enter the VM address in the “Host” field and click “Open” to connect.
  1. In the opened console you will need to enter a username and password that were specified while the VM creating (you’ll not see the password in the console while entering it).
  2. After starting the VM, you can go to the admin panel. To do this, go to the following address http://vm_ip/zabbix 
  3. When you go to the site, a page with authorization will open. 

Username to log in – “Admin” (note the case of text is important!)

In the password field, enter “zabbix

  1. After entering your login information, you will be taken to the main page
  1. By default, the system includes checks and monitoring of this server itself according to various criteria.

If you want to use agents in active mode, you need to open TCP port 10051 in the AWS firewall.
