Guide – How To Start – DNS Server (IaaS) on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on Amazon

Connecting via PuTTY


1 Open ports: TCP 10000 and UDP 53


2  To connect to a VM, you need the PuTTy application to connect via ssh. You can download it at the following link – Download

3 Launch PuTTY. Click “SSH”. Then “Auth”. Click “Browse” and add the key “PPK”

4  After adding the key, click “Session” and in the field “Host Name (or IP address)” enter the IP address of the virtual machine and click “Open”

5 Click “Accept”

6 In the console that opens, you must enter the standard login that appears when creating a virtual machine – ubuntu.

And press “Enter”

Browser connection

1 Enter https://ip:10000  in the browser line

2 Click “Advanced”.

3 Then select “Proceed to IP VM (unsafe)”

4 Enter “Username”root

   “Password” – Enter “Instance ID”deployed VM and click “Sign in”

5 Click “Servers” then select “BIND DNS Server”

6 Select “Create master zone”

7 Fill in the required data

8 The zone created by you appeared in the list of zones, go to it

9 Go to “Address”

10 Add a new address by filling in all the fields

11 You need to “update” the configuration after adding records.

12 Initial setup completed.
